Hormonal Pigmentation

Hormonal pigmentation (or melasma) appears as a symmetrical blotchy, brownish pigmentation on the face. The pigmentation is due to overproduction of melanin by the pigment cells (melanocytes). While there can be many triggers, the most common are sun exposure, especially when combined with the contraceptive pill or pregnancy.

Sun spots and age spots

Depending on your age, skin condition and budget, we recommend either IPL rejuvenation or Fraxel Laser to treat sun spots. Broken capillaries and facial veins

Broken capillaries are tiny congealed blood vessels that can often be found on the nose, cheeks and chin, and can be very distressing. There are many causes of broken capillaries on the face, but genetics is probably the greatest influence. Environmental factors also contribute, including sun exposure, spicy foods, hot beverages, alcohol and extremes of weather, such as cold, hot, or windy weather.

The solution

We will use either medical strength IPL or the Yag Laser to treat facial vessels. Both the Laser and IPL emit a beam of light that is absorbed by the red blood cells in the damaged vessels, heating them and causing them to clot. These small vessels are then slowly reabsorbed by the body. The result is beautiful clear skin!

Thinning lips
