Wrinkle Treatments & Cosmetic Injections
Wrinkle
Relaxers
Wrinkle relaxing injections* are
an extremely safe and effective method of reducing
or eliminating facial lines and wrinkles: for frown
lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet they
are unrivalled. It may be used to reduce lines under
the eyes or around the mouth and chin as well, though
this is a little less successful.
What is the treatment like?
Treatment is very easy – a series of tiny injections
is performed in the area where lines occur. This is quick
and fairly painless. The effects take a few days to reach
a maximum, and in most cases last about 12 weeks. If treatment
is stopped, the muscles actions always return to normal.
Are there any side effects?
This treatment is very safe, with no systemic side-effects
of note. Bruising from the injections may occur, especially
if you have taken aspirin or blood thinners in the week prior
to therapy. It is possible to cause a drooping upper eyelid
when used in the forehead, but this is uncommon and temporary.
Changes in the arch of the eyebrow can occur and is often
a desirable effect in enhancing the arch of the brow.

Lip
Enhancement and Line Reduction: Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers* are ideal for the
treatment of frown lines, brow lines, crow's-feet,
smile lines at the , side of the mouth and the small
vertical lines on the upper lip (often called smoker's
lines). Fillers are also useful in boosting lip areas
where shape and definition have been lost.
At Skin Resus we use non-animal
fillers which are allergy-free, and are broken down
and metabolised by the body over time. They are temporary
and will need to be repeated, typically in three
to 12 months (depending on the product selected).
New, longer lasting filler
A longer lasting filler is now available made of very small, smooth calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres in a water-based gel. As the product is injected, the gel and Microspheres form a “scaffold”, stimulating collagen production and encouraging tissue growth in and around the injection area. This “partnership” between the filler and your own body creates a natural look, lasting up to two years.
What is the treatment like?
Treatment with dermal fillers is a quick and easy process.
A treatment usually takes about 30 minutes. The gel is injected
into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle, producing
volume under the skin and helping to reshape facial contours.
Most people find the injections painless, though local anaesthetic
may be used when treating the lips.

Immediately after the treatment, you can expect slight redness, swelling, tenderness or an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal reaction to the treatment. The discomfort is temporary and generally disappears in a few days. Adverse reactions are very rare.
