Acne
Dimalux Light Therapy
Our extremely effective acne treatment involves a two-phase approach. After a consultation with one of our Doctors, a topical skin treatment (a gel for the skin) is usually prescribed. This is combined with a course of LED Light Therapy. We recommend two 20 minute sessions per week (one blue light, one red light) for four weeks. Acne Scarring
Fraxel Laser
This is innovative laser treatment is considered the gold standard for acne scarring. Fraxel laser repairs damaged skin, spot by spot, with minimal downtime by stimulating a healing response deep in the skin. It is great for acne scarring of all severities: from superficial scarring to deep pitting. 3 - 5 treatments are usually required. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Rejuvenation
The redness left behind after acne responds very well to IPL rejuvenation. We use the medical-strength Palomar Starlux IPL machines which gives great results. Broken Capillaries - Face
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Rejuvenation
We use the medical-strength Palomar Starlux IPL machines which are very effective in reducing or eliminating facial vessels. You can expect a significant improvement after one treatment, but up to three treatments may be required for best results. Dull, Tired Skin
For dull, lifeless skin, chemical peels can be very beneficial. We have a range of peels to suit all skin types and conditions. Choose from: the Party Peel (great before a special occasion), the Benefit Peel (for rosacea and sensitive skin), the Jessner Peel (for intense exfoliation), the Detox Peel (a potent anti-acne treatment), Clarity Peel (to brighten pigmented skin, including hormonal pigmentation), Retinol Brulee (great for sun damaged skin) or the Timeless Peel (a deep anti-ageing peel). Excessive Sweating (Hyperhydrosis)
The very popular wrinkle relaxer (Hint - it starts with B!) is also extremely effective at treating excessive sweating. Muscle relaxing injections (Hint - it starts with B!)
These are extremely popular as they are quick and easy and give dramatic results. The treatment involves several small painless injections which relax the muscles causing lines and wrinkles. Dermal Fillers
Small amounts of allergy free gel, usually hyaluronic acid, are injected to fill deep lines and wrinkles and to add volume. Rosacea
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Rejuvenation
Rosacea is a combination of broken capillaries and inflammation, commonly occuring on the cheeks (and often on the nose, forehead and chin). It may show as flushing, and is often made worse by extremes of temperature, spicy foods and alcohol. While there is no "cure" for this condition, IPL rejuvenation can manage it very effectively. Skin Care
For Rosacea, most experts recommend the use of a potent Vitamin C serum (such as Active C by Aspect Dr) and a retinol cream or serum (when tolerated). We have also found the Benefit Peel, which is rich in Vitamin C, to be very beneficial in calming irritated skin. All of these skin treatments work very well in conjunction with IPL. PhotoDynamic Rejuvenation
This is an intense form of IPL rejuvenation, most often used to treat solar keratoses (pink, scaly sunspots), but also where more . In this treatment, a special cream is applied an hour before the treatment, which makes skin more sensitive to light. An IPL Rejuvenation is then perfomed over the area. Spider Veins - Legs
Prominent small capillaries and veins on the legs are very common, and sometimes lead to aching and discomfort in the legs. For larger varicose veins we recommend that you see a vascular surgeon for the appropriate treatment. To improve smaller varicose veins and spider veins, we find sclerotherapy and laser therapy to be very effective. Unwanted Hair
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
We use the medical-strength Palomar Starlux IPL machine (we have the 300 and 500) which gives more comfortable hair removal and great results. Usually an 80 - 90% hair removal is expected after treatments, with the thicker darker hairs working best.
