IPL laser hair removal is revolutionising the way we treat unwanted hair: A short course of intense pulsed light (IPL) can replace the need for continuous and ongoing waxing, tweezing and bleaching.

After IPL laser hair removal, most hair will not grow back at all, while other hair may grow back thinner and lighter in colour. Between 4 and 8 treatments are usually required - your practitioner will advise you on how many treatments you are likely to need.

Quick Treatments
At Skin Resus, we use the Palomar Starlux IPL systems.  One of only a few in Western Australia, the Starlux is faster than other light-based hair removal systems. Smaller areas - such as the underarms, upper lip or bikini line - can be treated in about 5 minutes. A woman’s legs or man’s back can be treated in under thirty minutes.

It hurts less than waxing - honestly!
Traditional waxing treatments, which essentially rip the hair from the skin, can be quite painful. Most people, however, find Skin Resus IPL laser hair removal treatments to be significantly more comfortable.

In addition, since the pulses of light penetrate the skin, you do not need to let your hair grow between treatments: just shave or clip the hair to maintain a smooth appearance.

What should I expect after treatment?
A mild sunburn-like sensation is expected, usually lasting less than an hour.

The appearance of hair growth or stubble will continue for 1—2 weeks while the hair in the follicle is expelled. During this time, you may shave or cut the hair to maintain a “hair-free” appearance.
