Too much of a good thing?

Trish Hepburn - Monday, June 08, 2015

I've just returned from an inspiring weekend at the 2015 #nonsurgical_symposium in beautiful Melbourne. With Plastic Surgeons and Dermatologists from around the world, there was a wealth of information about non-surgical cosmetic treatments. One thing that really struck me, though, was the huge number of people (ok, women) in the room who had very obviously had "work" done. For most it was over use of dermal fillers - lips that were too full, cheeks too chubby. It's certainly better than my first cosmetic conference 5 years ago - there a lot of women looked frankly scary!

Surely the point of having cosmetic treatments is to soften things a little, not transform your whole face into some line-less, expressionless Barbie. "Look Fresh" is our motto at Skin Reus and that's really what it's all about. Soften the lines, restore a bit of fullness, remove the sun spots and age spots - that can all make a huge difference, but with the aim of making you look fresh, and really great for your age (well maybe taking a few years off as well). If you're not sure how much is too much, don't worry, we'll tell you!

Trying to look 21 at 41, or even 51, will always end badly, but who doesn't look at Jane Fonda at age 77, and agree that she looks absolutely beautiful - wrinkles and all.

I don't mean to be negative - it was a fantastic conference. Over the next week I'll share a few things I learned, so stay tuned.
